How it works
- Tap Record, speak, and watch the transcript appear as you talk. Tap Stop and save when you are done.
- Or just say “Wadsworth” to Siri to start a note hands-free.
- Recording continues if you lock the phone. The Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show a timer and a Stop button that saves the note.
- Search your notes by anything you said. Open a note to play it back, share the text or the audio, or delete it.
Requirements
iPhone 12 or later running iOS 26 or later. Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech engine; the very first note may pause a few seconds while the language model is prepared.
Common questions
- Siri asks which app I mean. Say just “Wadsworth.” Phrases with “record” or “talk to” can make Siri offer the Phone app instead.
- No transcript appears. Check that your iPhone's language is one Apple supports for on-device transcription and that it is an iPhone 12 or later. The audio is recorded either way.
- Wadsworth asks for the microphone. Only once. To change it later: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Where are my notes stored? Only on your iPhone. See the privacy policy.
