Privacy Policy
Summary
Wadsworth keeps everything on your iPhone. Your recordings and transcripts are stored only on your device. Wadsworth has no user accounts, no server of its own, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services. We do not collect, receive, or sell any personal data.
Who we are
Wadsworth is made by Michael Raskin Andrews, LLC, a single-member limited liability company in New Jersey, USA (“we”). This policy covers the Wadsworth app for iPhone and this website.
What Wadsworth does with your data
- Microphone. Wadsworth records audio only while you are recording a note, after you grant microphone access. Audio is saved as a file in the app's private storage on your iPhone.
- Transcription. Notes are transcribed by Apple's speech recognition running on your iPhone. No audio or text is sent to us or to anyone else for transcription.
- Storage. Notes, transcripts, and audio live in the app's private container on your device. They are included in your device backups (iCloud or computer) according to your own iOS backup settings, which we do not control.
- Sharing. When you use the share button, you choose where a transcript or audio file goes. Wadsworth never sends anything anywhere on its own.
- Siri and the Lock Screen. If you start Wadsworth with Siri, Apple handles your request under Apple's privacy terms; Wadsworth only receives the instruction to start recording. The Lock Screen timer shows the last few words of the note in progress and is removed when you stop.
What we do not do
- We do not collect names, email addresses, identifiers, location, or usage data.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting services, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not share data with third parties, because we have none to share.
- We do not use any third-party AI service in this version of Wadsworth.
This website
wadsworthapp.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or scripts. Like any web server, it briefly processes your IP address to deliver pages; we do not keep request logs beyond routine operation.
Your control
You can delete any note, or all notes, inside the app. Deleting a note removes its audio and transcript from your device, and deleting the app removes all of its data. You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Children
Wadsworth is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. Because it collects no personal data, we have none to collect from children.
Changes
If a future version adds features that process data off the device, such as sync between devices or optional AI features, we will update this policy first and ask for your explicit consent in the app before any data leaves your device. The date above changes whenever this policy does.
